Of course as expected with all fine dining restaurants, they served us a delightful complimentary bread basket that included sour dough bread.. and.. I forgot what bread.. but that’s not the important part 😀
complimentary bread basket served with mascarpone butter, eggplant caponata, citrus olive oil – The three sauces served with the bread basket is what matters most! Sorry for the dim lighting guys.. but this place strives for a romantic ambiance and I thought this nice first shot can afford dim lighting to portray it 😀 It’s not the “real” food entrees yet anyways! The mascarpone butter was a very smooth solid to knife into and felt very creamy and light like whipped cream when spread onto the bread. The eggplant caponata was put on next and gave it more of a chewy texture. I tried to dribble some of the citrus olive oil on top.. for a change 😀
grilled imported spanish octopus – This was so good! Normally I am afraid to order octopus because it is so easy to overcook it, which gives it a rubbery texture. I HATE THAT. But this met the delicate balance of soft and chewy! Yumm (:
raw yellowtail – olio di zenzero and flaked sea salt – The yellowtail was very soft, smooth, flaky, and tender. Raw deliciousness
winter squash and smoked goat cheese agnolotti with baby stewed tomatoes – This looks like your average stuffed pasta but it tasted so flavorful! Taking each forkful that contained the agnolotti and baby tomato gave my mouth the full flavors of this dish!
tajarin – This was my favorite dish of the night! If you look closely, I love how the camera was able to capture the beauty of this dish. The smooth, ever-so-slightly creamy pasta against the slight rough texture of the truffles sprinkled on top! The contrast between the simple taglierini and earthy black winter truffles was exquisite.
prime sirloin of beef served with baby vegetables, barolo reduction and pickled ramps
grilled branzino – crispy skin crust covering the moist, tender branzino flakes served on top of a potato cream
passion fruit panna cotta – sweet and fruity! Tangy! I like!
caramelized bittersweet chocolate semifreddo – Didn’t taste so bitter and as the picture suggests, just as firm and crispy as it gets for this dessert! Doesn’t even melt!
This place was delicious! The only thing I didn’t try was their famous simple spaghetti that this place was supposedly famous for; however it’s just spaghetti with tomato and basil so I decided to opt from it. Looks very simple and elegant but the next time I try this place in Las Vegas, I will for sure order! Bye bye LA Scarpetta! But at least you exist in other states! 😀
