Happy Hump Day guys!! 🙂 So yesterday I decided to try a hipster cafe right in Pasadena called Braise & Crumble Cafe. Holy crap the hipsters have set foot in the 626 area!! This little cafe is small and looks pretty cool a.k.a “hipster.” And this place is known for their pies and holiday pies! They have small pies and also can make big, regular pies if ordered ahead of time! We’ll talk more about sweets later 😀

crusted & dusted mac N cheese – 3 cube-shaped mac n cheese balls! There is some jalapeno inside to give that extra kick 😉 The outside is lightly crusty and crunchy from the fried Panko crust! Topped with Parmesan cheese 🙂
pulled pork sandwich with apple cider infused au jus sauce – The apple cider in the au jus caught my attention right away and I just had to order this!
The pulled pork was very tender and stringy and soft. Super flavorful and slightly salty.. maybe a bit too savory for me but good thing I have my apple juice!
short rib tacos – Made with braised short ribs, sauteed mushrooms, jalapeno puree, sour cream and fresh scallions to top it off. These were so good! The short ribs were also cooked with mushrooms and were so flavorful, soft, tender, and juicy!!! The mushrooms with the sour cream totally hit the sweet spot of creamy-ness for me! I would come back for these! They look small but they were “plump” tacos! (There was so much meat nested in there for each taco)!
Each bite was so juicy and creamy.. The juices from the short ribs were dying to flow out with each bite I take!
I didn’t even notice that the sandwich and the mac n cheese were arranged in the shape of hearts! How cute! Oh and I almost forgot the gorgonzola potato salad! Can you find it? 😉 Not that hard.. Made with red potatoes, green onions, and Gorgonzola cheese.
apple crack pie – Diced sweet apples in the inside with a thin, crumbling topping on top and a crusty pie crumb at the bottom! These were so good!! And I love their petite size!! Makes it easier for me to eat and finish after being so full from all the other stuff. Apparently this place is known for these and if you order ahead of time, they’ll make a regular sized pie for you! Good idea to bring dessert to the table!
