The Hart and the Hunter, Los Angeles, CA, is one of the more simple hipster places I’ve tried in the beginning that not only have an exquisite, simple menu, but are also served family style where everyone shares from the same friendly plate! 🙂 That’s a first for a brunchie place! There is a guarantee to be at least an hour wait to eat brunch at this place, but it is worth it! During your hour wait, you can observe your cool surroundings and check out the various hipster yet charming decorations and restaurant decor that they have! The themes vary from place to place, but fit together as a whole somehow! I wish I took pictures of the walls and tables and chairs now! 🙁 Sorry! But this will make you want to check out the place for yourself ehh? 😀 I love the plating also! Cute, decorative plates that are all unique in its own design. This is the perfect place to go on a small date with that special someone or just a friend and play catch up! The chairs and cushions make seating very comfortable. Come and relax and eat! 🙂 How perfect is that?
toast with sweet apple jam – I love the DIY “do it yourself” type of eating where they don’t spread it for me.. I want to spread the jam myself! That way I get to control how much ratio per bread I want 😀 I tend to like a lot 😉 This was mildy sweet with a slight crunch! Jammy, gooey, and crunchy! Yum yum!
smoked trout, boiled egg, pickled onion, capers, avocado toast – Okay, okay, this is “half-DIY.” Thanks for spreading the avocado for me, but let me do the rest!!! You know what’s the best way to eat pickles with your sandwiches? In my opinion.. I love it sliced JUST LIKE THAT LIKE IN THE PICTURE.. so that I can hold the pickle in one hand and the toast in the other and take bites from both! So what I did was spread the rest of the trout on top of the avocado, then put the egg on top and OM OM OM. The sourness from the pickle and the saltiness from the trout balanced perfectly on the neutral flavors and texture of the avocado spread. 🙂
peads and barnetts pork collar hash, peppers, potatoes, sunnyside egg – This pork hash could not get any more tender! And flaky! Did I mention that I love flaky meat? And just imagine what kind of egg porn I created with this dish.. 😉 This dish wasn’t super special though! I think I’m starting to see the general trend of short rib hash at a lot of brunch restaurants now.
All in all, I enjoyed eating at this place so much! This is the perfect place to dress cool, eat cool, and have a good time 🙂 Oh, and take pictures for you camera whores! <3
