This is my first time traveling out of the country and into Europe!! First stop outside the U.S. is London, but only as a layover for a few hours until we continue our journey to Rome 🙂 My first meal internationally is at a restaurant in the airport called Wondertree. It had a cute and colorful decor of greens and oranges. Since we didn’t have time to leave the airport to eat in London, we went here because they were known for their fish &a chips. And in London, isn’t that what they eat? 😉
mug of filtered coffee – Right now it is currently 1648 London time! I think it is super early morning CA time? We didn’t sleep well on the plane and needed coffee 😀 This just tasted like straight up black coffee; nothing special about filtered that I could taste
little miss sunshine iced tea jar (iced cold chamomile and Green tea, mango, lime, fresh mint) – I wanted tea and thought this would deliver! But it just tasted like mild lemonade to me! I couldn’t taste any tea in this 🙁 Disappoint considering the fact that I thought tea was big here! 🙁
surfer’s fish and chips (succulent breaded white fish, chunky wedges, jalapeño and lime tartar sauce) – This was pretty good! I’ve never had white fish fries before, but it was pretty flaky and juicy on the inside. You can see the flakes of white and gray of the fish. Doesn’t have as much flavor as swai or cod fish though so I think I will stick to those as my favorites!
Hawaiian beef chili bowl (chipotle spiced beef chili, brown basmati rice, topped with fresh pineapple and mango salsa, avocado and sour cream) – Another recommendation by our waiter. This is pretty much the “dry” plate version of a beef chili soup bowl!
The service here was very good! Our waiter was very nice and friendly and courteous to us, which made our first few hours in London nice and bearable! Our next flight is in an hour ish and lands in Rome as our first official stop to our Europe trip! Tata for now! 🙂
