Good morning to you guys while I am on the train leaving Paris and going to Boom, Belgium. I have always wanted to go to France and eat bread with pate and cheese while walking the Paris streets. During this trip, I actually did something better! In Paris, there is a park called Montmartre that overlooks the city of Paris and gives an overwhelmingly breathtaking view! On the backside of the hill is the Basilique du Sacre-Coeur. There are so many steps on the hill with tourists and locals crowding the walkways and sitting down! This is the perfect place for a picnic!
So what we did was walk to a local grocery store to buy wine, baguette, pate de foie, and Brie cheese! We had red and white wines too!
It was such a relaxing experience!! The baguette smelled like the freshly baked bread smell. It was lightly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside! The pate spread was thick and savory. And you know what?! I love Brie cheese at room temperature!! It is so good! Not hard, but also not too soft and melt-y either. It’s the perfect creamy texture.
And with good wine and good company, this made the perfect picnic! Being able to overlook the city of Paris. There were many groups of families and friends contributing to the distant chatter. You can feel the warmth and love from all around! There were street vendors and performers for entertainment. The atmosphere was just amazing. I enjoyed the food and the experience so much.
Now off to Belgium! Au revoir! 🙂
