Oh hello everyone!! Food in Amsterdam is mainly food on the go! There’s many small foodie places in the walls of small alleyways where you can quickly get food, then walk and eat!! What can beat this?! Amsterdam kind of reminds me of LA. There’s many genres of food here from Vietnamese to Argentinian to American to Italian to Schezuan. I can’t possibly name every single thing I’ve gotten here but here are some of the highlights!
Friet Point – Dutch fries with Dutch mayonnaise, ketchup and special sauce. And a hot dog. It’s not just their fries that are so damn good, it’s their mayonnaise. That’s right. I said it. MAYONNAISE. IT IS DELICIOUS. Mind you, this is not just any mayo; this is special Dutch mayo with that slight sweet kick. WHAT IS IN IT?! This is one of the things I am missing from Amsterdam. Everyone loves mayonnaise here and it is so good. I tried so hard to find a smaller container that would pass airport security to bring back, but failed.. Until next time!
Ice Bakery – 6 small Churros with Nutella spread on top. What else do Dutch people eat? Nutella. It’s Nutella everywhere! We love chocolate. They love Nutella! And these Churros are drenched in Nutella. They never got soggy though so props to this place!
Shawarma on the go! Delicious, delicious! The toppings were so overwhelming that we had to spoon some of it off first before enjoying the bites! The sauce was mild and refreshing!
Ice Bakery – Iced cappuccino with Nutella and whipped cream. See those brown swirls? Nutella again my friends!
Lite Dark – freshly squeezed juice (strawberry, Apple and watermelon) and protein/power balls! The protein balls had oats, quinoa, hemp, chia, chocolate, nuts, coconut. The power balls had dates, goji, almonds, quarana, and coconut. The balls were soft and juicy!!
Wok to Walk! Wow! It’s like Panda Express on the go! I had to try this! I saw so many people ordering this and walking around with it! You can choose your carbs, protein and vegetables to put in! Finally the sauce to cook it all in too!! I opted for egg noodles with chicken, mushrooms, and I forgot! Special spicy sauce too! This was pretty good! And easy to walk and eat with also!
Sushi Takeout – That’s what the store was called! See what I’m saying about food being on the go in Amsterdam?! Man they love to walk! I like to walk too! Eating and walking is the best!
Dolce & Gelato. Honestly I shouldn’t have gotten gelato after the recent trip to Italy. It’s good but still not like gelato in Italy. This is still too creamy. You know someone’s been to Italy when they say the gelato is still like ice cream. It’s just not the same!!
Asiadam – Assorted dim sum platter, shark fin soup with crab and shrimp meat, and chicken soup.
Whoa, whoa, whoa?! What is this?! Hint: Amsterdam. Marijuana lollipops!! 😱 just kidding.. Or am I?! Actually these just have the flavor but they don’t have actual marijuana in it. I didn’t get “high” from this! Haha 😉 it tasted good though?! Sour and sweet! But real talk now.. Marijuana is legal in Amsterdam. Just FYI.
