After being Yelp Elite for a 4 years, I finally landed my first Yelp Elite event!! What took me so long?! Fresno and school mostly.. But better late than never!!! The event was yesterday evening at Innovation Brew Works, Pomona, CA. This event was an opportunity to sample great beer from an awesome brewery, try cheesy pizza as the drunchies were brought forth, and most importantly, meet other elite Yelpers and make new friends! All of the above, check! π
Just some of the goodies laid out for us.. π
Whoa! You can see the brewery in the back! It was so cool! π
This was the agenda for the event. I’ve always enjoyed wine pairings with my food at restaurants so this was a pleasant surprise.. I didn’t know you can do beer pairings too! (Sorry I didn’t take pictures of the beer! I didn’t really care for it and only sipped on each taste. My partner in crime drank all of his and mine though π At each round, the waiters brought pitchers of beer all around and filled our cups up to the brim)!
cheesy breadsticks – These were cheesier than it looks! Delicious and hot! What more can you ask for an awesome starter!
I got caught in action π
the bubba – pizza sauce, mozzarella, tomatoes, jalapenos, pepperoni, italian sausage, and bacon, topped with cilantro. This almost tasted like a typical supreme pizza to me. The jalapenos gave it a nice spicy kick! π
who dare take some slices before I was able to take a picture?! #1 rule of being a foodie: the camera ALWAYS eats first. :O But here we have.. buffalo chicken pizza – garlic ranch sauce, mozzarella, buffalo chicken pieces, red onion, and a drizzle of buffalo sauce, topped with cilantro. I really liked this pizza more than the first because of the ranch-y taste π It was different! And c’mon, who doesn’t love dipping their pizza in ranch?! I do!
chicken bacon ranch pizza – ranch sauce, mozzarella, chicken, bacon and red onion, topped with parsley. Oh boy, this place sure does putting in the ranch for you already! May I say genius?? π
pesto mushroom – pesto sauce, gouda, mozzarella, parmesan, mushroom, and goat cheese, topped with parsley. No one at my table dare touch this pizza because there was goat cheese in it. What…? That’s absurd? Goat cheese is one of my favorite cheeses!!! Well.. more for me!! I actually was able to package a lot of pizza leftovers to take back to my momma.. π So no complaints! More pizza for me! hehe
monkey bread – cinnamon, sugar, and butter topped with vanilla drizzle and toasted pecans. May I say this is considered healthy because it has pecans in it? π π Good source of protein? This was a nice, sweet finish after all that pizza and beer..
And we all got gift bags!!! At first I was like.. “What is this?” But it makes sense! So I guess next time I come back I can just bring this with me and buy one of their tap beers and they’ll seal it off for me with a beer cork?? Pretty cool! I probably won’t be doing that.. But it’s a nice souvenir!!
All in all, good pizza.. good beer.. GREAT company!! Met a lot of cool people! Made new friends! Elite Yelpers, you guys are all so friendly and nice!!! We had such a blast and clicked with a couple of people really well right off the bat!! I can’t wait until the next Yelp Elite event! Keep them coming Katie! <3
