I know, I know, they’re not really peanut butter sauce or peanut sauce noodles, but they taste like it and look like it!! They’re actually sesame sauce noodles, and where can you find the perfect place to fix your particular craving? Dai Ho Restaurant in Temple City, CA is the place to go! This little, little place is only open for 3.5 hours 6 days a week!!! Not even 4 hours?! I’m not joking, am I? Nope.. Just Tuesday-Saturday 1130-1530. Whaaaaat! And they don’t even need to open that long to keep business going for them! During the few hours they are open, it’s always crowded!! They are that good!!
beef tripe with spicy simmered and dried bean curd. The great thing about this place is that there are many cold appetizers pre-prepared in these good little plastic containers (microwave-safe). Just go up, browse, grab whichever ones you want and head back to your table! The beef tripe with bean curd is my favorite! Big pieces of tripe and plenty of bean curd underneath. They are accompanied with my favorite red chili oil. So good. Not THAT spicy but it’s savory in its non-disgusting oily way.
beef stew soup noodles. This looks like your average beef noodle soup, but don’t let its ordinary look fool you. It’s surprisingly really, really good and very, very flavorful. The beef is super tender and soft and the broth is just so savory.
minced meat dry noodles. Out of all the restaurants in 626, I think this place serves the best minced meat dry noodles. Maybe it’s in their noodles. Maybe it’s in their meat. Or maybe it’s in their red chili sauce. I don’t know, it’s just perfect all mixed up! No one can ever say no to this dish!!
sesame sauce dry noodles. These are the creamiest and sauciest sesame sauce I’ve ever eaten and it is so good. I think it’s perfect to order it medium spicy for that small extra kick at the end so it’s not TOO creamy and monotone in flavor for you! The red chili oil is perfect with the sesame sauce. Who would have thought? The two should always be married together!
Even when we were seated at 1137, 7 minutes after they open on a Saturday, we were lucky enough to grab the last table!! And to beat the rush because after we were seated, more parties came!! 😀
You know how some places have lunch special during lunch time? I think this place’s lunch special is merely being open and giving us an opportunity to eat its delicious food!
Happy Saturday guys! Hope you’re all having a good weekend! 🙂
