Located in the El Monte of 626 is a delicious Mexican dessert place called Garcias Fruits. Now make sure that you’ve got plenty of cash on you because you don’t want to wait through the long line in the bustling busy of a small place to find out you can’t buy any! This place is small and tiny, but it is packed with Mexican fruity drinks and snacks of whatever you desire! From regular “ice cream” which is any flavor of sorbet you want to the famous chamango filled with mango chunks, sorbet and a stick of sticky tamarind candy to the preserved fruity snacks covered in tamarind, you can fulfill any type of sweet tooth.
Here is their famous chamango! I think we ordered the medium size this time which allows you up to 4 flavors of sorbet. I think we picked lime, strawberry, watermelon and… I forgot! And don’t forget that delicious sticky straw on top coated in tamarind! I love biting on that thing in between my spoons of sorbet, which is also coated with chamoy and tajin for that spicy kick. Ohhhhh boy do the Mexicans know how to make mangos taste dashing!!!
And it’s not just a sweet tooth craving. Garcias Fruits also offer to satisfy your salty tooth craving too.
Elote!!!!!! Corn Mexican style. Battered in a layer of mayonnaise, coated in a swarm of Parmesan cheese, sprinkled with chili powder and squeezed with a couple of lines. YUMMY!!!!! I love me some Mexican corn, some elote.
Delicious, delicious. This is such a smart stop to make if you’re still stuck on a sunny weekend! Get it before the weather gets too cold!
