What is crazily awesome about this Korean restaurant is the fact that it is not JUST bone soup that you can get.. You can also get meat.. and even better? Get it family style and share with your table! Big servings for big parties! What better way to use food to bring people together!! I just visited this place this past weekend and it is popping!! So what can you get? I suggest ordering their combo deals as it comes with a drink, soup, and main entree together for about $40 on average. Not too bad if you share with a group? For sure it can feed 2-4 people.
Boiled Ox Knee Combo ($40) with Ox Bone Soup with Beef Brisket + Drink (soju or soda). This is the combo that I got. Must I say, I brought back a big box of leftovers that can feed the two of us for another meal! Looking around, I saw many tables have big bags of leftovers.. Who doesn’t love leftovers?? 🙂 And always opt for soju!! Korean dinner is never complete without some soju in the tummy to mix with! Bring those good spirits up! 🙂
Ox Bone Soup with Beef Brisket. Ohh it looks good! See those tiny bits of fat in there? It looks plain, but it tasted GOOD. It tasted good and comforting. Now warning: the soup is pretty bland by itself, but Koreans always add in rock salt and pepper to their soup to add more flavor.. and that is what we did 🙂 Add however little or much you need to satisfy your taste buds!
They are pretty generous with the beef slices! And you know what’s even better? The noodles never get soggy! I think they were cooked in the soup too. Throughout our whole meal, the noodles stayed soft, but never turned soggy. They were good and chewy!! I love these noodles! I must find out what these noodles are called because they are definitely not the Vietnamese pho noodles nor vermicelli either! The beef was soft 🙂
Braised Beef Short Ribs. THIS WAS SO DELICIOUS!! Came out super hot. There are potatoes hiding here or there.. And OH MY GOD, THEY EVEN HAVE TTEOKBOKKI at the bottom!!! What a pleasant and chewy surprise! Tteokbokki is a type of Korean rice cake that is cylinder in shape and extremely soft and chewy. The soft rice cake is normally cooked in this red chili sauce called gochujang. I love how this place has three types of carbs in my dinner: noodles, rice, and tteokbokki.
There were sides provided at the beginning of the meal too, which I neglected to take a picture of. However, they weren’t personally my favorite type of Korean sides so I didn’t care for it. Overall, this is a decent place for a variety of Korean beef soups, boiled beef, and braised beef short ribs. So if you’re ever lazy to drive out to K-town, this place would be a good alternative!
