#dineLA is in full swing and everyday, many restaurants offer prix fix lunch and dinner menus at a reasonable price for you to try and discover new restaurants! With this being said, there are always going to be better deals than others out there. In other words, more bang for your buck. After eating #dineLA for multiple years and careful scrutiny of all their menus, I have concluded on the BEST deal for lunch in Pasadena. So for those of you in the area or nearby, you might wanna check out Central Park.
Central Park offers a $15 lunch menu that includes an appetizer or dessert and entree. Of course, appetizer and entree combo is more worth it. Now what about the foods? Let me give you an inside scoop to their menu.
From a glance, I think the crab bisque soup shines out by far in the appetizer section. Combo that with either the grilled ahi tuna sandwich or the crab tower and you got yourself a pretty good deal for $15.
Now I went ahead and tried other menu items just to try. I’ll share it with you in case you dine with others who are crazy enough to not like crab or ahi tuna. Haha. Here we have the baby kale salad, which is composed of tender greens topped with candied walnuts, dried cranberries, fresh mozzarella and citrus mint dressing. This salad looks petite but was surprisingly really good and fresh. It had the perfect amount of citrus and sweet and crisp.
Ahh it is our crab bisque soup that is sherry laced. It looks and tastes almost like lobster bisque soup but with chunks of real crab inside. The texture of the soup was creamy and smooth. Definitely A+ from the menu!
Oh wait… what is this? Not a dineLA item?! But for you Yelpers out there, check in and get a complimentary serving of crispy truffled brussel sprouts. These little leaves were separated and crisped to individual leaf chips. Yummy!
Going with 2 others, there’s our appetizer round.
Now for the entrees. If you dine with a vegetarian, that is okay. They have a veggie option in the menu called angel hair checca served with tomatoes, garlic, extra virgin olive oil, fresh mozzarella, basil chiffonade and Parmesan reggiano. This was surprisingly very good although it’s hard to mess up a simple spaghetti sauce.
Now here is our crab tower!! Look at how majestic our short crab tower is with all its layers of avocado salad, papaya salad, crab salad, cucumbers, tomatoes, mandarin oranges, topped with Asian slaw, and balsamic reduction drizzle. My favorite part was the crab and avocado together! All the vegetables and fruits made it for a really healthy salad tower!
My absolute favorite is their grilled ahi tuna sandwich. It was just so good and tasty with their jalapeño tartar sauce, tomatoes, Swiss cheese, sprouts, and broccoli salad on focaccia bread. The tuna was a refreshing cool texture in such a warm and savory bread. Delicious, delicious.
Here are our entrees 🙂
Now if you dine with someone with a sweet tooth and they insist on sacrificing a delicious crab bisque soup for a dessert, go for their #1 dessert: carrot cake. The cream frosting of the cake was delicious and sweet. The strawberries were sweet!!! The whipped cream is always lovely with cake!
Now there’s the run down for ya’ll of Central Park Restaurant in Pasadena! If you’re interested at all in dineLA, make this one of your lunch stops! I promise you won’t regret! Tata for now! 🙂
