Luckily for us, we did not let the long line sway us from not waiting. We waited! And only 30 minutes at that!! Nothing beats the feeling of being bundled up in warm clothes, breathing in the crisp, New York air, and waiting in line for warm, hot, melting cookies to be eaten by me, the cookie monster. rawr. 😉
They make the daily news! They make the New York Times! They make the magazines! They make everything!
Look at this ginormous cookie in BOTH of my palms. Each cookie is two cookie palm sizes big! I had to hold this cookie in BOTH hands! This first cookie is the oatmeal raisin cookie (a classic healthy cookie for those who don’t want to feel as guilty eating a giant cookie).
Look at how thick this cookie is! You can see that it is approximately 1.5 inches in height or thickness after I break it in half (right down the center).
Here is the chocolate chip walnut cookie.
I apologize for taking a lovely, slow stroll from the bakery to Central Park prior to finally opening this bag of goodies up; hence, the chocolate chips aren’t as freshly, lava-like melting, BUT the cookie was still very warm; the chocolate chips were still very soft and velvet-y nonetheless.
Here is the dark chocolate peanut butter chip cookie. May I say that this cookie is the healthiest cookie of all 4 cookies because it is composed of DARK chocolate and peanut butter chips? Both ingredient of healthiness? Dark chocolate is full of anti-oxidants and what not; peanut butter is packed with fatty protein? Ha.. who am I kidding? Myself, the cookie monster. Hehe.
Finally, we have the dark chocolate chocolate chip cookie. This looks like a brownie!
But this cookie is made of dark chocolate dough and filled with dark chocolate chips. Double dark chocolate-y calls for double anti-oxidants.. 😉
And last but not least.. here is my totally amateur YouTube video of my first visit to Levain Bakery. Thank you. It has been an honor to eat your cookies. Until we meet again because cookie monster WILL come back. Om om om. Rawr 😉
