You order at the cashier bar. Normally there is a long line that extends to across the cafe, out the door and around down the street. Luckily for us, it was a Monday early afternoon and who eats breakfast at this time? Well, we do 🙂 I can eat breakfast at any time of the day!
Here is a picture of what each table looks like. The bottle of water are already filled and set at every single table for customer’s convenience. I really like this extra small detail because they know EVERYONE always asks for cups of water. Water is free so why not just already provide them at each table? Brilliant and satisfactory. If you check in on Yelp, you get a free cup of Forge coffee, hot or cold to your desire. There is self serve almond milk, half + half, and whole milk by the wall along with various sugars.
This is the lumberjack pancake breakfast, which includes buttermilk pancakes, two eggs any style, brick hash, and house sausage. It looks like a very simple platter of the traditional breakfast items. Everything was surprisingly so good and flavorful. The pancakes come in threes and were thick and soft and fluffy. The house sausage had a little zing! The cubed hash brown was extra crispy. Smoked honey butter is included!
Of course I just had to try their buttermilk fried chicken + waffle with smoked honey butter and chives. How good was this?! The plate did not scream out any promises so it was much to my surprise at my first bite of the chicken. IT. WAS. SO. GOOD. The skin was extremely crispy and crunchy. The white meat was very flavorful, very savory and very juicy. There is a special seasoning they used that added an extra spice or kick to it. I couldn’t place it; it tasted similar to the sausage, but it worked and it was so good. I ate more and more!
For just three girls, two plates were more than enough to feed us. Their servings are huge (even though it doesn’t look like it). The food was very filling and satisfying. To add, the cute decor and placement of the tables and arrangement gave the perfect atmosphere for girly chatter and gossip. I would come back here to eat breakfast again. 🙂
