Tomorrowland is one of the biggest electronic music festivals in the world and happens in Boom, Belgium every year. It has always been my dream to travel to Europe and enjoy good music with the Europeans. Last summer of 2016, I was determined to make it happen and it did!
There are no words that I can say to describe how unbelievably fun it was. Again, nothing I can say to portray the uniqueness of the culture and excitement that this rave brings from people from all over the world. NOTHING! You just have to go for yourself to see and experience, live and love the music and people around you and truly unite as one as the melodious tones make everyone feel the same thing as you feel. But that can be another story for another time.. For now, we focus on food.. Because the food? WAS BOMB.
Okay okay. I apologize for the first food picture to be mundane Vietnamese egg rolls, but I did want to document the extent of all the cultural food there was at Tomorrowland.
Ohh.. I can’t believe I forgot what this was but it was a savory beef on a skewer stick topped with a peanut-y thick sauce.
Okay, from the BALLS AND GLORY BOOTH, we have our meatballs. On the outside they look like a crunchy ordinary, but in the inside, that’s when things get juicy. ๐ These are called helemaal knacks station.ย This first meatball is the veggie spinach meatball with mushed potatoes.
They decide to do their fillings on the INSIDE of the meatball instead of pouring the sauce on the outside. What a different way to eat your gravy ehh?
Here is our chicken tikka masala meatball planted on top of some vegetables.
Ohh and look at that spicy curry just oozing out of my sliced meatball. ๐
Would you believe me if I told you that Tomorrowland was INSANELY HOT AND DRY? Plus being cracked out from partying and dancing to music all day and night 1, I needed some acai bananarama to keep myself cool. <3
This is a tomorrowland wrap with thai flavors. The flowers is what makes it a tomorrowland wrap!
And then we have our vegetarian pita falafel for all of you veggies out there! It was actually really, really good! Lots of hummus.. mmm I like ๐
Okay, I’m sorry. I know it’s just a hamburger, but I was determined to try EVERY food booth. It felt obligatory for me as a foodie haha
One of each taco that they offered: taco pork belly with guacamole and taco entrecote with guacamole.
And here we have some pasta..
I FORGOT WHAT THIS WAS BUT IT WAS SOOO GOOD! Shame on me for blogging about the food a year later haha
Oh man, some kind of Panda Express like noodles.. They were called FRIED NOODLES.
This was the most delicious and savory snacks I ate in Tomorrowland. It looks plain, it looks dry, it may even look unappetizing. But don’t let looks deceive you. Each bite is packed with so much savory flavors. This is the frikandel and boulet. My trip to Amsterdam right after confirmed that this was a Dutch snack. Oh man, Dutch people know how to eat!
This is probably the most iconic food item you can find at Tomorrowland, representing all of the major countries of Europe. Their basic French fries with ketchup, pink sauce and white sauce. They call it pink sauce and white sauce. We call it.. Thousand island dressing or Big mac sauce but without the relish? Mayonnaise? But their mayo is different.. It is slightly more sweet.. and it is a staple sauce to dip your french fries in (as re-confirmed by Amsterdam). I really wanted to find a small jar of Dutch mayo to fly back with me but I couldn’t find a travel size one ๐ Sadness!
And there is a little taste of Tomorrowland food for those of you who are going to go this year! You’ll have an unforgettable 3-days filled with good food, good company and all the cultures.
