Elote (corn on the cob) – fresh corn, parmesan, spicy creme, parsley, spice. The Asian fusion of a Mexican corn?? I almost can kinda see it, but I admit, I rather have the street elote. It’s good but it’s just not the same FEEL when you want to enjoy good, ole’ dirty Mexican on the street. 🙂
Garlic Chicken Wings – crispy chicken wings, pressed garlic, black pepper. I can always appreciate good chicken wings anywhere, and these hit the spot just perfectly! They scream in garlic and that slight kick from the black pepper tops off the flavors well. 🙂 May I add, crispy skin and moist meat inside? Drools.
VOX Pear Salad – golden pear, fig balsamic, bur rata cheese, arugula, honey roasted nuts, champagne vinaigrette. I have never enjoyed a salad so much in my entire life! I regret not taking a picture of what was hiding underneath the arugula. Arugula, why you gotta always cover up the goodies underneath for every dish?! But this salad.. WAS AMAZING! The most satisfying and refreshing and filling salad I have ever eaten! You just gotta mix all the ingredients together and eat it all in one bite.. together.. To enjoy each flavor that’s meant to complement each other. Or alone.. Whatever.. it is SO GOOD in any way!
House Garlic Noodle w/Grilled Prawns – organic wheat noodles, butter, garlic, parmesan cheese, secret sauce, scallions. Yes, yes, I feel like garlic noodle sounds easy to make, and it is! But hard to successfully make GOOD. But Vox Kitchen definitely executed the noodles right. 🙂
Spicy Shrimp Wonton – homemade shrimp wonton, spicy sauce. A simple Taiwanese appetizer that cannot go wrong. Perfect amount of spice. Perfect amount of flavor. Love the shrimp!
Tofu w/Century Egg – tofu, century egg, pork sung, soy, green onion. Wowwie! I never thought I would see the century year old egg at a restaurant.. and with cold tofu? Who would have thought! Oh, this chef surely thought and made it right! Almost reminded me of the Japanese Agedashi tofu dish but even better! The cold tofu is very soft, delicate and smooth. The soy was light and refreshing. The egg was.. well.. you can’t really make it wrong because it’s already given preserved.. BUT you could use it wrongly and this egg was used just right. 🙂
PRIME Rib-Eye Steaks. And the finale dish that we have all been waiting for! And I mean literally! At least 30 minutes after all the other dishes came out. And the wait was well worth it. Very deliciously medium-rare, full of juices with complements of those mushrooms and chili spices on top! Yummmmmmmmyummmm. 🙂
Don’t be surprised that this place gets packed quick! If you don’t want to join the small crowd that waits outside during dinner rush hour, make a reservation! 🙂 They take it.
I WANNA GO BACK HERE ALREADY!! :O
