Finals have officially ended and I really wanted to reward myself the end of the first semester by going somewhere to try new foods. What better place for a quick few day trip than SF! This city is always bustling with new pop-up restaurants and when one finally sticks, it must be good 🙂
On the second attempt, the boyfriend and I finally got to try this brunch restaurant called Plow. Why? Not only because it was a suggestion from a local San Franciscan, but my boyfriend finds fun and giddiness in the name itself. Weird. It’s all about cows!!
Even on a Friday morning, this place has a wait for the inside, which is warm and cozy and the Christmas spirit is definitely in the air. With an airplane to catch back home, we opted to sit outside with no wait. This wasn’t so bad because I do enjoy sitting on a cup of hot tea while enjoying the crisp cold air through my nose and on my face. What better Christmas spirit?
What we didn’t know would be waiting for us was a very kind hostess who not only seated us at our table, but also had her hands filled with two warm and cozy blankets for each of us. I looked around. Every single seated customer had one around their shoulders or on their lap. What nice and thoughtful customer service to provide such amenities for the outside! Now I was really glad to sit outside. Just that small thing added to my cold and crisp winter morning.
I enjoyed the warm blanket. It was perfect!!!
So let’s get to food??? We didn’t order much because it was just us two and we both don’t want to feel overstuffed. But what to order when you can only order one? This was easy to decide! It was clear what their signature dish is that all tourists and locals like to order alike …
the plow – two eggs sunny side up, two lemon ricotta pancakes, plow potatoes with house made pork sausage.
Now everything on this plate was scrumptious. The eggs were perfectly yolky and freshly made. The patties were hand made from scratch and you can taste all the fresh flavors and hard work into molding these. The potatoes were crispy, crunchy and hot. And now the lemon ricotta pancakes: WERE THE ABSOLUTE BEST! Perfectly fluffy and soft with that great blend of lemon flavors woven within. Not too strong nor tangy, but perfectly sweeet! Now this is what they were known for!
I would definitely come back here. Here for some more lemon ricotta pancakes and maybe try their almond pancakes next! 🙂
