Good morning and post-birthday blues.. NOT! ๐ Today is a beautiful day today! It is sunny and bright, breezy and warm. It’s one of those few days that I finally get to enjoy the outside because I don’t have work nor clinical nor class today. Wow, that’s rare! I want to thank everyone for the birthday wishes yesterday and thank my boyfriend and family for continuing to celebrate my birthday this upcoming weekend! So it’s not over yet..YAY! ๐
Right now I am enjoying my birthday at a coffee shop in Pasadena called Lavender & Honey with the boyfriend. The boyfriend is working from “home” and I am being productive! I’m okay with a little of work today and not being completely lazy. Birthday is no excuse! Plus, I get to enjoy some delicious coffee and yummy toast!
We tried the french lavender breve and honey bee latte. I personally liked the french lavender breve more because it is a sharply sweeter and hotter. And creeaammyyy! We also shared the lavender & honey toast which is my favorite toast to get anywhere! There is the initial spread of goat cheese drizzled with fresh honey and topped with dried lavender buds.
Tonight, the boyfriend kind of surprised me with a cooking class for my birthday! I’ll talk more about it in the next blog.. ๐
Now to recap yesterday.. I went to my last clinical in the morning, where I got to kind of celebrate my birthday with my preceptor. She was gracious enough to give me a birthday present and card.. You didn’t have to! She is really the sweetest and most thoughtful person I ever know. Anyone who gets a spot in her life is very lucky.
Her brother surprised me with a strawberry birthday cake from Sunmerry Bakery on Las Tunas & Rosemead. The cake was a very smooth and light creamy that I have never tasted before! It was so good! And you can tell from the strawberries alone that they are just scrumptiously sweet.
After my sister got home, my mommy took both of us to eat traditional, casual and comforting vietnamese food at Com Tam Thuan Kieu on Valley Blvd.
We shared the.. Com Tam Thuan Kieu 10 Mon, which consisted of shredded pork, steamed egg, chinese sausage, shrimp paste, bean curd with shrimp, grilled shrimp, grilled pork chop, pork egg roll, shrimp egg roll and choice of pork nem.
Whoa! That was a mouthful to type.. It was just $12 and the perfect plate to share with 2-3 people.. You get a good amount of rice and extra of a little of everything.. of all the toppings. It was so good! I love vietnamese food. It is so comforting and good and casual. Just eat to your stomach’s content. Who cares about getting fat when the food is this good?
Thank you mommy for dinner! You are the best mommy ever! <3
(Kind of a short blog today but it’s my birthday weekend and I’m going to go back out and celebrate ๐ )
