M Grill is one of the two most common Brazilian BBQ restaurants that most people know and have gone to. The other is Fogo De Chao. If you want to enjoy Brazilian meat without emptying out your wallet or making your credit cards cry, M Grill is much cheaper and more casual and geared towards the younger crowd. M Grill also participates in #dineLA and they have both lunch and dinner options. Dinner is twice as much more meat than lunch. For $49, you can get these extra meats during DINNER TIME ONLY: picanha, beef ribs, filet mignon, ribeye, costelao, rack of lamb. There is still the traditional salad bar, hot sides from the hot buffet, and the rest of the meats from the grill.
From the Salad Bar: cheese platter, seasonal fresh fruits, grilled zucchini & carrots, red beets, grilled bell peppers, artichokes, hearts of palm, broccolini & cauliflower, hummus, red onions, roasted jalapenos, kale salad, potato salad, caprese salad, chicken salad, caesar salad, arugula salad, quinoa salad, green beans salad, roasted mushrooms, honey glazed bacon, olives selection, hot pepper selection.
Fish at the Salad Bar: smoked salmon, shrimp cocktail, tuna poke, ceviche.
Hot Buffet: collard greens, fried plantains, farofa, pimenta malaguetta, rice, feijoada, beef stroganoff, cream of corn, mashed yucca, moqueca.
From the Grill: Linguica Brazilian Sausage, Smoked Sausage, Pork Spare Ribs, Garlic Chicken Thighs, Chicken wrapped in Bacon, Chicken Parmesan, Boneless Leg of Lamb, Top Sirloin Steak, Picanha, Garlic Picanha, Bottom Sirloin, Tri-tip, Beef Ribs, Filet Mignon, Ribeye, Costelao, Rack of Lamb, Grilled Pineapple, Chicken Hearts, Grilled Salmon, Maminha a Brazilian classic.
Here is my personal plate of sides that I have chosen from the Salad Bar. The mashed potatoes were extremely creamy. The tuna salad was my favorite! The potato salad had a jalapeño spicy kick. The caesar salad was generic. I didn’t even get to the rest because the meats started coming!
During DineLA only, cocktails, beer and wine from a selected menu are BOGO! 😀
Now my favorite thing to eat at any Brazilian BBQ restaurant regardless of where it is is their renowned CHEESE BREADDDD!!! Their cheese bread is so good and I don’t know where else I can go to find these yummy little soft things! Each bread is so soft and fluffy with that hint of creamy and fluffy cheese that isn’t really the solid texture of cheese.. instead the cheese is just melted within the bread itself. Very chewwyy too!
If you look closely, you can see that a big portion of my plate is covered in chicken hearts. Mind you I asked for chicken hearts for two rounds. They are just so chewy with that slight crunch and so deliciously seasoned at the same time. So flavorful. I love chicken hearts!
My top favorite three things to eat at M Grill are: chicken hearts, cheese bread and grilled cinnamon pineapple. That’s what I always end up stuffing my stomach with! Of course there’s always that piece of picanha and top sirloin steak that is also so delicious too..
And this big hunk of sliced stick of pineapple. 🙂
These two were the best slices of pineapple I have had all night! They were thinly sliced, very well seasoned with cinnamon and grilled to uber softness. I HAVE A SUGGESTION: why not make a sweet and HOT cocktail drink out of these juiced grilled pineapple?! That will definitely be a drink I will have!
Overall, If I had to choose between the two restaurants, I would favor M Grill over Fogo any day! It is more reasonably priced, more of a semi-casual atmosphere, appears to a younger crowd, has the chicken hearts AND the grilled pineapple… What more can you ask for?!
