I think we even ate less in day 3 because a lot of us were already so tired and worn out from the bar hopping we did the night before. I was a bit disappointed with not making it to some of my bookmarks, but I was also tired at the same time so it was okay. I still had a lot of fun and it was always good company all around.
ACTUALLY!!! Wait I DID have a lot of fun but it wasn’t because of food.. it was because my boyfriend and I went climbing at this gym called Movement twice in the morning and early afternoon!! The first time we just went us two but during the second time, we dragged some friends.
Then we picked up some friends to go to Vine Street Pub & Brewery for some drinks and food. There was an introductory to their unique ways of serving and teamwork. Each employee does every job here so whoever was waiting on you today could be doing dishes tomorrow or cooking the food the following day. You don’t have your own job position or tables. Everyone works together as a team and does everything. Also, this place is cash only. If you don’t have cash, that’s okay too. They do the honor system where you can take your check home and mail the bill later!!
Toad Hollow Chardonnay – California. 100% unoaked. Full rich mouth deal with clean and crisp flavors of mango and melon. Vibrant and well balanced.
Dry Creek Chenin Blanc – California. Zesty citrus, ripe apple and crushed minerals are woven together. It finished crisp and clean.
Chips and salsa. White corn chips with fresh salsa with guacamole. The guacamole was on point! I could use a little bit more though.
Mountain sun wings. Jumbo wings tossed in hot sauce. The breaded made these wings look even more huge! The bready crust was a bit too thick for me though. I did appreciate that they had blue cheese dressing though. 🙂
S.O.B. Burger. Blackened seasoning, sautéed green chilies, jalapeño, and bacon with jack and cheddar cheese.
Speakeasy steak sandwich. Thinly sliced and grilled steak, caramelized onions, spicy giardiniera, melted mozzarella, arugula, horseradish creme, roasted garlic mayonnaise, served with corn chips. This was actually surprisingly good! It was very saucy and refreshing. The steak was tasty.
Oh Cod! Another fish taco! Blackened cod on three flour tortillas with fried green tomatoes, Palisade peach pico de gallo, pickled Fresno peppers, and avocado coulis. Served with black beans topped with cotija cheese. I was so disappointed in these fish tacos. They were too gourmet for me so I didn’t think they tasted good at all.
A cool thing that they did was that they asked for all of our names and put them on little flags for whoever’s dish! This was so cute and made it easy for whoever ended up serving our food!
Then.. for dessert, we went to Chocolate Lab just a few big blocks down the street for some dessert. This place is sooooo cute!!! It is also a chocolatier shop where you can buy chocolates to go.
Here are two little cute beakers filled with cream for the black coffees that some friends got.
Adult Dark Chocolate Elixir. This was so decadently sweet!!!! It was pretty much an intoxicated version of hot chocolate. It was sooo good.
Easy Livin’. The knot Irish whiskey, ballotin chocolate whiskey, cinnamon, chili, coffee. This was refreshing just like a nitro cold brew but alcoholic. The cup is served initially upside down because there is cinnamon scent from the burnt sticks that give out the cinnamon aroma.
S’moretini. Fluff marshmallow vodka, chocolate, coffee, cream. This was so goood!!!!!!!! It was so creamy and thick!!! And the marshmallow was so thick and fluffy!
Chocolate on cheese charcuterie board anyone?
Chocolate ravioli. Hazelnut filling, sangria reduction, chocolate caramel. Someone raved about this on Yelp but I didn’t quite like it. It was just okay but nothing special or exotic! The ravioli was served cold too.
S’more. Panna cotta, marshmallow, hickory chocolate sauce, flaming whiskey. THIS WAS SO GOOD!!! Our waiter lit up the tray of whiskey to have a small and steady fire on top of the alcohol so that we can roast our marshmallows and chocolate. When the flame ran out, he even gave us extra and a little more in another beaker. The panna cotta in the back was a cinnamon-y flan that was also just as decadent and sweet.
Brownie a la mode. Warm brownie with housemade vanilla ice cream. The warm brownie was sooooo rich in chocolate and soooo chewy. The ice cream was rich and creamy too.
Some chocolates and treats to go as souvenirs.
Dark chocolate and rose cardamom truffles. I can’t wait to try these!
And that concludes Denver round two.
