This morning’s breakfast was a nice surprise! We accidentally walked ourselves into a French Market filled with many vendors and food and drinks. It was inside a train station. There were 3-4 rows of food vendors from both sides. It was like an indoor food market!
My boyfriend is ordering some gnocchi for us ๐
And I got us some empanadas.
Le Brie Fondu Gnocchi. From scratch Parisian-style gnocchi: roast chicken and ham sauteed in mornay sauce with spinach. This was so delicious! It was really creamy and cheesy, which I lovedddd. Tis is one of those rare moments where there was plenty of sauce and cheese!
Here is everyone’s foods!
I got the chori-cheese empanada with well-seasoned chorizo, potato & cheese. I also asked for some serrano sauce on the side, which was fresh serrano pepper base, caramelized onions & light garlic for a strong yet pleasant spicy finish.
After we ate at the food market, we wandered back to the original Sawada Coffee shop again to show my boyfriend’s two cousins the same place. This time, we also bought smoked meats here..
I almost forgot we visited the Museum of Science and Industry!!! We spent 4 hours there and ran out of time!
Beef Brisket with broccoli salad and spicy vegetables. It was half a pound. The brisket was very tender and shreddy and flaky.
My boyfriend also surprised me with a drink that I forgot the name of. I also didn’t finish it..
His cousin bought a sausage, beef brisket done a different way. It was solo good! I love the ambiance of this place, where you have a coffee shop, a smoked meats shop and a bar where you can get all 3 things and sit anywhere you want!
The macaroni salad was monstrous and goooood!
The sausage is juicy!!!!
Delicious beef brisket. Look at those fats.
Next stop was a last-minute unexpected reservation that we managed to grab: The Aviary. Same chef as Alinea. This, I will also dedicate a separate blog to because it deserves it. ๐ But just check out the entrance of the place! Very secluded, very secretive, very exclusive. There is the host standing right outside and only until after you get checked in, she’ll open the door for you to walk in. As soon as you walk in, you stop into another world altogether..
After the Aviary, we had some time to kill before we had The Girl & The Goat reservations. I’m going to talk about Aviary in a separate blog because it deserves it!
So let’s check out another bar and chill out there! Let’s go to The Allis.
The ambiance of the Allis bar was very comfortable, with plenty of couches, fluffy pillows, different home-like decor…
These are the two drinks that the boys got. I think the girls all tapped out. We needed to save room for Girl&Goat! I would come here more for the relaxing and comfortable ambiance than the drinks. They even offered charger cables for us!
And finally The Girl & The Goat!!!!
Doesn’t this goat look so cute? I’m also going to dedicate Girl & Goat to a separate blog… hehe ๐
