After having a blast with Otium’s brunch menu, my boyfriend and I wanted to come back for their lunch menu! When we came for brunch last time, we saw them hand rolling and making trays of pasta. I asked them about it and they said it was only for dinner on weekends and lunch and dinner on weekdays. So I said, “We must come back because even the raw pasta looks good!”
And we came back indeed.. like two weeks later..
Here is some matcha cold brew to start, which didn’t taste like there was any cold brew coffee at all. It was like.. matcha done cold brew style. There was a lot of matcha aroma and flavor in it. I liked it!
My boyfriend got the Otium drink (Hibiki Harmony, Suntory Toki, Lemon, Almond, Japanese Bitters).
We initially asked about this saffron infused tequila with lemonade but they just took it off the menu! This drink tasted really good with a candied ginger on top.
Look at my boyfriend so happy with his drink. 🙂
Pasta in the making..
Trecce. Octopus, Calabrian Chile, green onion, brown butter fennel. This dish was my favorite for the lunch so far! The generous bits of octopus was so soft and tender and chewy. The sauce also gave a bit of a spicy kick! This was a dish that surprised the both of us. The pasta was al dente and perfect.
Rigatoni. Basil, pistachio, Parmesan. This was a very creamy dish. Rigatoni was soft and filled with sauce inside. There were crunchy bits of pistachio in the pasta. Tomatoes gave it a tangy kick to counteract the creaminess.
Shrimp Tom Kha. Cucumber, tomatoes, lettuce. Same thing we got for brunch last time. It was just so refreshing that we had to order it again! This definitely had a Thai influence incorporated. Shrimp and vegetables in a light coconut-y sauce.
My boyfriend’s second drink, which was some lime infused vodka drink like a mule… with cucumbers. (Aloe, vodka, chareau, cucumber, lime)
Chicken. Potato, onion, shishito, aji verde. Okay, my boyfriend wanted to order this just for the shishito peppers. Apparently this dish was worked on and perfected by Chef Timothy himself in which he submitted for a culinary Olympic like competition (I don’t know how it did). The potatoes were the same as the crispy potatoes. The cilantro-inspired green sauce was THE BOMB! Strong punches of cilantro with some tang and omg how is it so good?!
But the chicken is a bit dry for me… I think people are afraid of undercooking chicken so they overcook it a lot in restaurants.
Some pour over coffee. Our waiter personally spent like a good 10mins brewing the coffee for us instead. What good service!
The waiter offered to steam some milk for me!
We had such a fabulous experience again for lunch. We stayed for a good solid 2 hours. Now we need to come back for dinner…
And might as well take my boyfriend to the Broad at least once in one of these times just because it was right next door..
