Good morning to Zadar! We grabbed breakfast real quick at a morning bakery before driving to Krka National Park and then to stay in Split.
This is what the cafe looks like from the outside! It’s small and not as noticeable. The walls are also very old and polished, just like the outdoor streets.
I got a savory cheese bread that was very filling!
After visiting Krka, we drove over to Split to spend the night because it was closer. While waiting for dinner time, we were a little hungry and got a little pastry to taste.
We went to this corner bakery.
I got a chocolate eclair that was small, cute and light!
Then for dinner we went to Bokeria. We made reservations here in advance thanks to my fiancé!
Complimentary bread for the table. There was a variety of breads. My mom’s favorite was the nutty bread.
Because we had such a huge dinner party (12 ppl), we were forced to do 3-course dinner options. There were three types: fish, vegetarian or meat. All of us got all 3 kinds. I got the fish course and my fiancé got the meat course.
Menu 3 273,00kn
Cod fish spring roll with homemade tomato sauce. This was the appetizer of my fish course. It was like a fried egg roll of cod fish inside. The texture of the cod fish was like a smooth and creamy paste. It was very good! The fried outside was perfectly crispy and light.
Menu 5 330,00kn
Bakeria beef carpaccio with Dijon mustard sauce, salty Croatian cheese, arugula, pickled onion, capers & horseradish. This was Vince’s appetizer of the meat course. The beef was very thinly sliced! I personally didn’t like it because I don’t like onions. Vince said it was very very good though!
Sea bass filet with grilled zucchini, cauliflower purée and sundries tomato chimichurri. This was my fish entree. It was soooo good! I would say this ties with yesterday’s fried squid as being my favorite thing I ate so far. The crispy skin on top was perfect. The filet itself was soft and moist and tender. Fish is very good here!! The cauliflower puree was so smooth and soft and creamy.
Filet mignon with Demi glacé, cole slaw salad and black truffle mashed potatoes. Vince’s steak entree! The filet mignon is perfectly medium rare in the center. Very well seasoned on the outside. The mashed potatoes were superb!
Cheesecake with lavender. Because I’m so used to lavender in soaps and climbing chalk and whatnot, I felt like I was eating soap. Otherwise, it is good! There is plenty of crust at the bottom and even a lavender chocolate chip at the top! Everyone got the same dessert.
Tomorrow, we’re going to drive 3 hours to Dubrovnik and spend 2 nights there! It is the capital city of Croatia so I am very excited.
