This morning we are ready to leave Split and drive into Dubrovnik. While waiting to check out of our apartment, some of us got espresso with milk and sugar..
You know the coffee is very good here!!! They grind the beans fresh to order. Everywhere I go, the coffee is dense, rich and thick! I love it!!
Once we drove into Dubrovnik, we took a little detour break and got some drinks and snacks at Sesame because it was already 3pm ish.
This is some sort of seafood crouton that I did not get to try because we only ordered two. The boys had to rush to return the car so we let them take these to go. The rest of us girls stayed back to eat.
A stack of tomatoes, hummus, pesto and cucumbers. This seems to be a common salad theme in Croatia!
Some sesame bread. I see a lot of sesame seeds being used here.

You know Dubrovnik is so beautiful everywhere you walk.. The walls and structure and alleyways are all so beautiful. Everywhere feels romantic.
For dinner, my new fiancé made reservations at Lanii. It happened to be the same owner of the restaurant as the owner of the apartment we’re renting from.

Clams and mussels in garlic wine sauce. The mussels and clams were very good! I loved the sauce!
Grilled squid with fried and arugula salad. The squid was very soft and tender. I’m loving the squid here! It’s sooo good!
Mediterranean fish soup. The soul was very good!!! The soup base reminded me of the Vietnamese sour fish soup, but without the sour.
Risotto with baby prawns and creamy spinach. The shrimp was so tiny!!
Dalmatian calamari stew with polenta. The sauce was extremely good but it would be better with pork or beef. It tricked me. I wasn’t expecting squid or I think it doesn’t go together!
Marinated rosemary sea bass filet. Look at that crispy skin!
Our waiter surprised us with a celebratory chocolate cake for our engagement! It was so rich and decadent!
Then the young ones went bad hopping last night. We went to a couple of places within the castle and two of them wanted to do a staying awake contest.
Time for some drunchies!
okay I didn’t order this, but I did try a bite. Interesting to see if the burgers here are even good because I see so many people eat this here.
