Our fourth day in Dubrovnik is also our last full day in Croatia. Most of us had the nice luxury of sleeping in if we were able to, but some of us can’t. I’ve only been getting 3-4 hours of sleep per night.
We woke up early and some of us decided to get some morning espresso with milk and sugar again!
Wait backtrack, I forgot that before we got coffee, we stopped by this pastry shop to get some morning pastries for a small bite. We figure we might as well eat something little while everyone else is sleeping.
This is a cheese and spinach croissant that was super crispy and flaky and good. It was very cheesy.
Look at these cute little cups smiling back at me!
For lunch, we had reservations at Gradska kavana arsenal, overlooking the pier and the water. I’m taking the picture from atop the city walls when we paid to walk on top and around the perimeter.
Look at that beautiful view! The breeze was nice and warm/cool.
The menu is like a newspaper.
Everywhere we ate, there is a basket of bread!
Irish coffee. Very rich and decadent with a little taste of that whiskey.
orange juice. This orange juice is so pulpy and refreshing and sweet.
Mediterranean fish soup. This was such good soup!!! Oh my god!! The broth was so clear and light yet rich with flavors. The fishes were flaky.
Look at the fish! It also comes with mussels!
Mussels – Dalmatian style buzara. Fresh mussels, parsley, garlic, white sauce, breadcrumbs. Mussels were very small and very good. The seasoning was perfect.
Truffles and mushroom button linguine. This is the best truffle pasta I’ve had so far in Croatia. It was so rich with truffles without being too overpowering. And also creamy. We actually ordered a second one of these!
Salmon and white fish carpaccio, arugula, citrus segments aceto balsamico reduction. I love that they slice the salmon and fish into very finely thin pieces. I enjoyed it more that way.
Sailor style risotto. Seafood risotto in tomato sauce. Delicious. All of the risotto here is delicious.
Steak tartare. A bit too sour for me. Presentation was cute though!
Grilled calamari. Loved it!! As all the others before, perfectly cooked. Soft and chewy on the inside, slightly charred on the outside. And on a bed of vegetables!
Sea Magic. Tuna tartare with white sesame, baked shrimp with black sesame on feta cheese salad, avocado and tomato, oyster from Mali stone bay. The cheese salad was superb! That was my favorite part of the dish.
My boyfriend also booked reservations for dinner at Revelin. This place also had a very nice view but from across the water at a different location.
More bread yay!
Fish soup, shrimp, rice, vegetable crumbs. This soup was pretty good but not as good as lunch’s soup. There was a lot of rice so it reminded me of Vietnamese rice soup with fish.
Prawn carpaccio. Adriatic prawns, arugula, lettuce, radish, olive oil, Parmesan, lemon. THIS WAS SO GOOD! I’ve never had shrimp for carpaccio before and I loved this! It was also very thinly sliced.
Grilled sea bream. This was before they cut the fish for us.
This was after.. I asked the guy if I could take a picture of the fish and he said yes! I love the service! He even separated it very neatly and nicely too! The fish was very flaky and soft.
Linguine di Mare, squid, shrimp, mussels, garlic, olive oil, tomato sauce with basil, Parmesan. This dish reminds me of Jollibee’s spaghetti but an elevated version of it with seafood. The sauce was lightly creamy and sweet yet savory. There was plenty of seafood. It was so good. We ordered another plate of this also!
Summer tomato risotto with burrata, rice, white wine, tomato, garlic, olive oil, Parmesan, burrata cheese with basil. Delicious, delicious, delicious. The risotto was al dente. The sauce was creamy and slightly acidic. The cheese was thick and rich.
Spicy garlic shrimps, butter, garlic, fresh red jalapeño, lemon. This was a reminiscence of Boiling Crab but not spicy.
Truffles tagliolini, butter, cream, fresh trufffles, Parmesan. This was also good but not as good as lunch. I think I like truffle pasta with the spaghetti noodles more. Nevertheless, still very creamy and savory.
pistachio ice cream. Almost all of us got a cone of this for dessert after walking for a while to walk off the dinner. It was just okay. I personally don’t think ice cream is that good here. There isn’t much sweets stuff. It’s just allllll seafood!
