Vince and I recently bought our own place in El Monte and there are certain roads we always drive by. One of those streets is Tyler Ave and we noticed a small taco shop on the corner that would have signs up every Sunday. They advertise tacos for 75 cents each. This place is called Tacos El Arco.
We don’t know what kind of tacos though and we always wonder what kind of tacos are that cheap. Are they good? Is there a lot of meat? We keep telling ourselves we would check it out on one of the Sundays that we were free. Last Sunday, we finally were on the way home and decided to just try a taco or two. We pulled up on the side walk and parked. We went inside and saw another red sign with more specific information on what KIND of tacos were 75 cents..
All four tacos were delicious! They put plenty of meat in each taco and each taco comes with two tortillas. They even gave us green and red salsas. All tacos already come dressed with white & green onions!
After taste testing Tacos El Arco and it passed, I decided to introduce my mom to this place too! My mommy LOVES tacos and I know she would enjoy them even more if they were CHEAP too!
So the next week, my mommy and I went to eat a late lunch at Tacos El Arco. Being our first meal of the day and super hungry, we ordered 12 tacos for $9.90. (We ate six tacos each). The lady who I’ve seen twice behind the counter is very nice and sweet. I asked her for extra salsa and she gave me extra green salsa and extra guacamole salsa.
The guacamole salsa is VERY good! It was slightly spicy so I enjoyed that hot kick. It was thick & chunky. I was already decently full and content with 4 tacos but had to stuff myself for the rest of the two tacos. We ate one of each taco to taste first and I must say that Buche & Cabeza are my two favorite >> They are soooo tender.
All in all, for 75 cents, this place is a hidden gem! I am definitely coming back and dragging more people to check out this place! I can’t believe that the meat tacos are only 75 cents each!
From what I’ve gather, I think they have fish tacos on Wednesdays for 99 cents each.. or some kind of taco because there is a sign that says Tacos 99 cents on Wednesdays, but does not allude to what kind of taco…
Tip: Bring cash!
