Back to Royal Blue Grocery! It is a local bougie looking. Grocery store with yummy snacks, deli stuff, chips, cookies and even freshly brewed coffee! There is a high table bar inside and outside for enjoy your cup of coffee. Can even order paninis or sandwiches to go with it too! We walked over to the same grocery we made a snack stop before the Main Access Point to get a cup of coffee. Wanted to see if it were good.
Hazelnut latte. I ordered with whole milk and it was done very well. The latte art pour could be better but it was thick and frothy. I couldn’t really taste the hazelnut syrup from it. It was weak in flavor.
Then we walked over to Tacodeli to try the tacos from the origin source to see if it is better and cheaper. The answer to both was YES! Our favorite bean and cheese was only $2.50.
Here you can choose between flour or corn tortilla. The presentation is also left open for you exactly like how a taco looks like instead of wrapped in foil like a mini burrito.
The Otto. Organic refried black beans, double bacon, avocado, jack cheese. With flour tortilla. I think simple bean and cheese is the best. I don’t need the extra bacon and avocado in my taco.
Bean & Cheese. With corn tortilla. Organic refried black beans, jack cheese. So good. Delicious just like from the coffee shop but actually even better! Evan, Vince and I chilled here for another hour or so after eating until we had to Lyft to the airport.
Lastly, an hour before our flight departure, Vince wanted to try a slice of pizza from Eastside Pies in the airport. They only serve pepperoni and cheese slice pizzas that look huge, thin and New York style for $6 a slice. We weren’t even hungry but we just wanted to try it so we got a slice of double cheese pizza. The slice was huge and sandwiched between two thin paper plates and out in a brown paper bag.
The pizza was delicious. We were surprised it was only 2.5 stars on Yelp and after perusing a review, apparently it is a very good pizza joint in the city! What great luck we had to be able to try another Austin pizza.
And that concludes our trip. I’m sad it’s over and I already gave the blues sitting in the airport blogging about this. It is so nice to travel to a new city again to explore new things, new places, new foods without any responsibility, chore or errand!
