Today we have a full day planned! We are going to go to Kualoa Ranch and explore is 3 tours: Jungle Expedition Tour, Hollywood Movie Sites Tour and the Aloha Aina Tour. This day also includes a lunch at their Ranch House Lanai.
It was a great day! There were a lot of beautiful views and a lot of knowledge gained. It was great to see some of the actual movie sites for Jurassic Park and Lost.
This was our first meal of the day and even though it was mediocre, it tasted good because we were hungry. Each person got a classic cheeseburger.
During our last tour, we were shown their farmlands and got to try some things that were grown on the ranch like guava, starfish and taro. What was memorable was the dried poi fish. It was slightly salty and definitely flavorful with each chew. How you eat it is to dip it with the taro spread.
After we got back, we ate dinner at PAIA Fish Market Restaurant. There was a little bit of a wait. The clam chowder initially tasted good with its creaminess and soft potatoes. However, we realized there wasn’t much clams and it was chicken meat instead! It was also a little salty.
Mahi mahi fish sautéed in butter, garlic, wine and lemon with Cajun rice. My mom was craving cooked fish and so this is what we ordered. It was decent but a little bit on the firm side than I expected. It was just a tiny bit tougher to cut. The Cajun rice was good.
Seafood pasta. Linguine noodles with fresh fish and shrimp, sautéed in garlic, wine, cream, Parmesan cheese, onions, capers, mushrooms, tomatoes and basil. It was weird for me to have capers in it. The sauce was creamy but not thick enough. It definitely looks better than it tastes.
Today was a long yet exciting day! I will post more of the activities on my Instagram. Time to sleep and rest.
