I finally slept through the whole night! I had such good and deep sleep. There was a great sense of comfort from the amazing hospitality and clean amenities, details that the normal person wouldn’t notice. Just me.
The bed was so comfortable, the blanket is thick and pillowy, the pillows were so soft and plumpy yet plush.
Breakfast starts at 730am here and Vince rushed me to get breakfast. He was up since 6am. We were greeted by such a beautiful dining area with floor to ceiling glass walls overlooking the ocean and beaches and town. It was so beautiful to see the rest of the sunrise with breakfast. Our waiter brought us freshly squeezed orange juice and coffees. Vince tried their Greek coffee and loved it. I got the cappuccino but tomorrow I’ll get the latte.
The breakfast buffet area was AMAZING. There was so much of everything with condiments and then extra condiments that’s over the top. There was a Greek yogurt bar table with so many condiments and toppings possible: from tomato cherries to shelled pistachios and hazelnuts to an assortment of fruits and fruit spreads.
The hot foods area ranged from different types of eggs to different types of sausages and bacon to feta stuffed tomato, Mediterranean rice with peas and corn, sautéed mushrooms, grilled vegetables and now I’m rambling a long sentence because it is too much!
There is a whole cereal and pastry table with a big tray of fresh honeycomb. The spinach pie was good!
Then there is a whole desserts table where I finally tried the baklava for free and this other round flaky dessert next to it that I like even more than baklava! It’s called Glanifiko.
There are champagne glasses and self serve champagne! We enjoyed our view and was actually there for over an hour relaxing and enjoying the view. For once we weren’t in a hurry to eat and leave. We were enjoying the view and service and niceness of the restaurant!
Afterwards, we walked 10 min into town again to explore, take pics of cute little streets and window shop. It’s so tempting and we wish what we desired were here because it is about to be off season in Mykonos and all these designers are offering great deals to clear our their stores.
We dropped by RHAPSODY Myconian Stories for some afternoon drinks. We noticed this place last night because it had a light-spirited ambiance, cute and had milky cocktails for me. I love the window out looking into the violent blue waves.
Bushwacker. Baileys, kahlua, amaretto, milk, drizzling with chocolate. This was my drink, hence the milk and chocolate theme. The booze is from the Baileys and kahlua and served as a smoothie. Very lightly creamy and kind of sweet. It was cold to drink though!!
Negroni. Gin, Campari, martini Rosso. His typical.
So we opted to try a souvlaki next. We had the gyro yesterday but wanted to try to see which we like more. Gyro meat is carved from the big vertical skewer of cooked meat versus souvlaki is cooked skewered meat. We gave into Souvlaki Stories due to the cute theme and name.
MEGA GREEK SOUVLAKI. Two lamb & beef kebabs, tomatoes, onions, green tzatziki sauce, fried potatoes. This was mine! 9.20 euro and literally double the size of my 5 euro gyro yesterday. Delicious and stuffed. I couldn’t finish it so I just ate the tomatoes and meat, left the rest. It was good! But I think I prefer gyro meat and the slightly smaller size of the other gyro because I eat small servings now.
TWIN DREAMS SKEWERS. Two lamb & beef kebabs, tomatoes, onions, cabbage, carrot & lettuce salad, souvlaki story sauce, fried potatoes. He loved his! Their special sauce reminds me of Mcd’s Big Mac sauce! And instead of pita bread, it’s wrapped in a tortilla. His had a lot more vegetables and greens too.
Afterwards, we walked around some more to the windmills and checked out a cute little souvenir shop. Then I wanted to get ice cream so we went to SNOW ice cream.
I got the pistachio and hazelnut ice cream and Vince got just pistachio. Both ice creams were very nutty and you can tell from the texture that there are ground nuts in there. Both were so good!
Luckily for Vince, the ice cream shop’s back entry to the sea also connected to a bar so he wanted to get a drink after while watching the waves.
The bar was called Veranda.
Porn Star. Vodka, passion fruit, passoa, lime. I finally got to try my sisters recommendation, which was the porn star. From the sound of the ingredients, Vince said it did sound like something I would like. Oh my god, I hated it. It tasted like medicine, like a NyQuil. That medicine-minty taste. It also came with a shot of Prosecco to either pour in or drink as a shot.
Vince got his boring Old Fashioned.
Then we went to a wine shop for Vince to buy another bottle of red wine as a night cap. Also!!! I had to stop by Jimmy’s Gyro for another pork gyro because I know it’ll be my last chance!! Even though I was still full, it still tasted so delicious. And this time, while I was happily biting into my pork gyro and making my own mess as a kid, trotting hurriedly behind Vince who is speeding up the hill to get back to our hotel for his third poop on time!!
Not only did they clean our hotel room, but they also gave us each another pair of free hotel slippers and also two more bottles of MUSCAT DE LEMNOS as a souvenir and parting gift even though we’re not leaving until tomorrow. So nice of them!!!!!!
Now we’re relaxing for a few mins and getting ready to go to our complimentary appointment at 1730 at the Thalasso Spa for 5 pools of mineral enriched seawater: aloe Vera, lavender, minerals & salts, cold sea water and jet boil sea water. It was pretty relaxing and a fun experience for us because we hardly do any of that stuff.
For dinner, we have been eying Pasta Boss since day 1 we were here. We saw them make fresh pasta from a pasta machine and it looked simple, quick and good. We walked to Pasta Boss in like 9 mins, ordered and got our food in like 5 mins and then walked back in 9 mins.
Rigatoni with 4 cheese (Parmesan, mozarella, blue cheese and pecorino) with mushrooms. I got this pasta because I love cheese duh! The pasta is Al dente. I wish there were more cheese or creamy sauce. Some of it collected at the bottom though. It was good but I also want more mushrooms!
Casarecce Arrabiatta (fresh tomato, garlic, chili peppers & onion) with mushrooms. Vince got this one and it was gooood! Very tomato-y. I loved it more than mine.. And now I just realized I should have picked a red sauce because the tomatoes are so good in Greece!!!!
We ate in bed!! Because we’re on vacation and don’t eat in bed at home 🙂
