This morning we walked to the closest espresso cafe we could find (Italian) and sat down for some CAPPUCINO and croissants. There is a lot of multicultural influence in this city; I think mostly because there are so many people that go in and out of this city to visit the sanctuary. We also saw a lot of handicapped people on wheelchairs being helped my nuns; priests everywhere. I can feel the power of the people’s belief and faith congregate here. It’s so heartwarming to words I cannot describe.
Every month, a group of people from a different country come to help the weak here. This month happens to be Italians I think. We see a lot of Italian food today.
For lunch we ate at Le Parc. It looks like a nice, ornate hotel located just below a Best Western hotel.
Vince and I shared:
Seared prawns on a puffy pastry bed with leek cream. We were chasing after the first boiled prawns but it was nowhere near as good. They were tasty but just not as good. The shrimps had a nice char to it and the puff pastry was light and crispy.
Veal chop with steamed vegetables and its white Porto sauce. This was good, tender and juicy. I appreciated the light sauce that came with it.
When it was finally near our train arrival, we walked partway down towards the city and got takeaway from So L’Oasis, which is a Mediterranean restaurant.
I got the steak wrap with mayonnaise. It was satisfying to eat. They were generous with the amount of steak and mayonnaise sauce. There was lettuce and tomato! Simple and moist; I like!
Afterwards, Vince invited me to go to the train bar with him to check it out. It was our “date.” The bar was simple and spacious with little booths and counters.
He got a beer and a wine because the line was long. I got an apple juice. My juice was good!!! But our date got interrupted early because they were checking tickets and Vince had his dad’s. Oopsies!
