This morning we walked to the Arc de Triumphe. Afterwards, we went to Cafe de Paris nearby for some morning Parisian breakfast.
CAPPUCINO. Served in a glass with the triple layer visual of espresso, milk and foam. Delicious.
My cafe mocha was very decadent, deeply chocolatey and delicious
Omelette nature. We ordered a plain omelette but it wasn’t the fluffy and buttery omelette that we wanted. It was very flat. And they messed up our order because it has ham in it.
Omelette mixer jambon et fromage. They put so little cheese!!! So little I thought they messed up my order and gave me one with no cheese.
Pain au chocolat. Very good and light with dark chocolate on the inside.
Croissant. This was just as good as the croissant from Cafe de Paris. So soft and fluffy; served hot. The inside is almost borderline doughy. Delicious. I’m glad I decided to order an extra croissant on top of the chocolate croissant.
Afterwards, I was antsy and excited to go into Cartier to finally get my love bracelet.. but guess what? I would need to get my custom stamp in France (aka today before I depart tomorrow) because Switzerland is not part of the European Union. Oh gosh.. I had to walk away. I was pretty sad.
So to cheer myself up, I got a dark chocolate cake and a dark chocolate eclair to indulge it. We kept passing by La Madison du Chocolat and everything in there looks so delightfully scrumptious. My mom indulged in a darn chocolate eclair and a dark chocolate creme brûlée.
We walked to Le Marceau, where we tried to eat breakfast earlier but left. The plan was to get some drinks and enjoy our desserts there but the waitress said we can’t eat outside desserts there. So we waited until we left to eat while walking.
La Bimbo. Apple, orange, ginger. I got two glasses of this. I was slightly worried about the ginger but it wasn’t overpowering. It actually tasted really good and thirst quenching at the same time. The ginger gave it a very mild spicy kick. Very refreshing.
Dark chocolate eclair. This was scrumptiously delicious! It was so soft and smooth chocolate mousse on the inside. The dark chocolate glaze was amazing. It was even topped with a crispy dark chocolate biscuit stick that gave it a nice crunchy texture.
Dark chocolate cake. This was so decadent and moist, yet not too sweet. Perfect, perfect cake!!
Afterwards, Vince and his dad went to join the others to rest. So for the next hour I took my mom on a leisure stroll around the nearby shops to look around and talk. I know she likes to look at stuff.
I indulged myself on a small tiny box of two dark chocolates called AKOSOMBO and QUITO. The box is so tiny and cute!! The bag is so tiny and cute!!!
AKOSOMBO (Ganache chocolat noir, notes epicees).
QUITO (Ganache chocolat noir, mi amer).
For dinner, we met up with Vince’s cousin name Kevin. He showed us two gardens nearby and then took us to this shop that sells these waffles called Meert. He says he used to love to eat these waffles until he couldn’t eat gluten anymore.
We got one of each flavor, including vanilla, raspberry, cinnamon and pistachio. They were like super thin waffles that sandwiched a flavored filling.
His kind wife prepared Pot-au-feu for us. It is a French dish of slowly boiled meat and vegetables. She used beef, potatoes, onion, carrot and daikon. The meat was very tender and flavorful. The broth was clear and light. Vegetables were soft. It was perfectly comforting and hearty with rice.
She also made apple crumbs for us, served with Madagascar vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. The apple crumbs style is dry but not dry. Very warm and heartwarming.
We had such a lovely meal and they were so kind to us. It was nice to visit Vince’s French side of the family. That side of the family is very cute and playful and kind.
