We took a tour bus to stop by Lucerne while on the way to Mt. Titlis. The ride along the way was somewhat enjoyable as we passed by a lot of green hills with farms. We saw horses and cows too!
Lake Lucerne and the Old Town Lucerne were very beautiful. We took pictures in front of the Princess Chapel Bridge and even walked through it.
As a quick snack, I got a cheese quiche. It was so cheesy with a thick crust. It felt like eating a very thick pizza.
We got to the base of Engelberg city and got tickets to take the train up Mt. Titlis. We took a train, two cable cars and then a ratator cable car. At the top, the restaurant was small so we settled for cup noodles. It was comforting even though overpriced. Like 8 CHF per cup noodle. Oh well, we’re on vacation.
After we got back from the tour, we dropped by a nearby market for me to get some cheeses to eat on my off town. I heard that Switzerland is known for fresh and good cheese due to their happy cows.
Afterwards, we ate at another restaurant near our hotel in the touristy alley called Frisk Fisk. It’s mostly seafood and fish. I know, I know, I want to eat cow but all the others are full. We will eat cows tomorrow for our last day!
HJEMMELAGED BROD OG SALT. Homemade bread, flavored butter, salt. They charge like 6 franks per person but only gave us 6 pieces of bread for exactly 6 people. Thankfully, we asked for more and got more bread! The butter was insanely soft like whipped butter and drizzled with olive oil over it.
MARKEDSSALAT (market salad). Breadcrumbs, herbs, radish, Frisk fisk dressing. This was very refreshing and super fresh. I ate a little of it. My mom ate the rest.
POT AU FEU (stew soup). Snow crab ravioli, shrimps, raw salmon, Norway lobster, halibut, fried fish ball, vegetable, sauce rouille, saffron. I was really expecting a hearty pot au feu like from Kevin’s wife but it was not at all! Sure, the broth was tasty and flavorful and the seafood and fish was good, but there wasn’t enough of it and done too upscale for our taste.
After dinner, most of us wanted gelato again so we literally went to the same place called Dieci (right across from our restaurant we were dining at). I got another coffee and pistachio gelato.
I think everyone was still full because when we got back to the hotel room, my mom ate her croissant that we got for her in the market earlier haha.
One of Vince’s good old climbing friends spotted him earlier today before a tour and so we decided to meet up with him at night at Zuri Bar, also very near our hotel.
Nutellino. Baileys, amaretti Disaronno, Nutella, sugar syrup. A dessert cocktail for sure!! I enjoyed the presentation. The chocolate syrup and nuts on the rim was a fun touch.
