Last morning before we headed back to the airport to go home and we decided to use our chump change to buy some ready-to-eat breakfast bites at Family Mart. We each got the minced meat and cheese croquette and a salt chicken thigh skewer.
Both were so juicy and tasty!! The croquette had a lot of ground meat in with a huge hunk of melted white cheese in the middle. It was soo cheesy and so good! Totally up my alley! I suspect it may be laughing cow cheese, which I don’t mind at all!!!
The chicken thigh skewer was perfectly seasoned, super juicy, fatty and savory. There was a lot of juice and fat from the chicken dripping out and it just hit the savory spot. I’m so glad I tried it.
A bag of edamame chips were perfectly salted and soft and puffy.
Before we boarded the plane, we ate lunch at the IASS Superior Lounge. There was a self serve section and an order section. From the self serve section, I nabbed myself a small bowl of yakisoba. This was so good! It just hit the spot. I wanted some simple fried noodles with simple flavors. There was some cabbage and carrot in it. I ate two bowls of this.
I got my mom a bowl of roasted vegetables.
From the order station, there were a couple of menu items. I got my mom and I each a bowl of curry rice. We shared the potato croquette and I got the taiyaki. The curry rice was very good, mild in flavor. The rice was plump and chewy and soft. The curry sauce was plentiful.
The potato croquette was light and crispy, warm with soft mashed potato inside. Your typical very good potato croquette.
The utensils and chinaware they used here was nicer than your typical lounge with an emphasis on the Japanese theme. There were good quality wood chopsticks, wet naps, dry napkins, spoons, forks; all the chinaware had Japanese blue/white designs.
We flew United Airline on the way back and they were pretty quick to serve us dinner. It consisted of chicken and rice with a side of spinach and carrots. There was also a corn salad with spring mix. The food was actually very good! I was impressed by how soft and moist the rice was and how not-dry the chicken was. The corn salad was actually really good and refreshing. I was not sure what the sauce was. Looked like mayo but didn’t taste like mayo.
Sorry if the picture was a bit blurry. This happened during turbulence and the plane just would not stop shaking. Hard to take a good picture.
Halfway through the flight, United gave us a small snack in between which was a cute little clear plastic bag with handles that included two small round breads with ham/chicken and cheese, napkin and a cracker snack. So cute. The presentation was cute and the sandwiches were actually pretty tasty. Simple yet tasty. I also love cheese and they used actual cheddar cheese slices.
I was also too sleepy and delirious to remember taking a picture.
For breakfast, there was a choice between udon noodle and eggs. I chose eggs. I really want just American food and that fluffy egg from omurice didn’t scratch the itch at all.
Well, my platter looks sad. Sausage looks like one wiener hot dog that is so pale. One triangle hash brown that is actually soggy and kind of wet and tasteless. The egg is not all bad. There is a thin layer of cheese in between that thick thing and some red sauce underneath. I ate about half.
I’m impressed with how much we were fed on United Airline. I usually avoid American Airlines because I feel like they never feed as much as international ones, but this one proved me wrong. United fed me plenty!!
