Good evening guys!! Soo, my first blog post is going to be about today’s eatings, which include a belated birthday lunch treated by my big sis 🙂 We went to Otium, Downtown Los Angeles, CA, which is a newer restaurant established right next to the Broad Museum. It’s a great indoor and outdoor restaurant that I highly recommend to anyone who is visiting the Broad Museum and attempting to enter the infinity mirror room.
Some of the many food dishes we ate were..
crispy potatoes, lemon salt, aleppo pepper, creme fraiche
hamachi, nori, avocado, sweet & sour tomatoes
fusilli, egg, bacon, clam, creme fraiche
kurobuta pork, black rice, thai basil, fried egg, fermented hot sauce
grilled fish (sea bass), squid, artichoke, tomato, pine nuts
What’s even more amazing about this restaurant that is a not-so-low-key secret is that they let customers walk right through the kitchen! So, I mean, wow it’s great enough when restaurants showcase the insides of the kitchen and allow their customers to watch their food being made.. but another to even let them walk among the workers and cooks and even look up close to the food being made up close!!!!
And So I walked.. and peered.. and looked at the foodie plates being made.. and the chefs were so nice to tell me what they were making.. and then I found another dish I wanted to try and ordered it on the spot!!! OMG and it turned out to be the best dish for lunch in my opinion…
Wait for it.. HAHA
amberjack, yuzu, smoked tangerine, chicarron
So delicious..and so full.. but you know, that never stops me from having my dessert!!!!! And for my belated birthday dessert, I wanted to try something new and out there.. and so we headed into K-town to try their newly popular DRAGON BREATH at CHOCOLATE CHAIR, Los Angeles, CA. It may be over-hyped.. but still fun to try.
So these dragon breath balls are cereal-like crackers served in liquid nitrogen to give that smoky vapor.. and you can dip it in flavored milky dippings like rose milk or chocolate. It’s like eating cereal but hookah-style.. cause you can blow out the smoky vapor while eating it.. super fun 🙂
And hey, hey.. I know I can eat good food but I think I can make pretty bomb food too!
For dinner after an awesome gym sesh, it was time to eat something more healthy and clean. I made baked garlic salmon served on top of garlic and cheesy red-skin potatoes (can’t be seen here.. it’s hiding under the salmon! but it’s so yummy). And sides of eggy cabbages and baby bean sprouts 🙂
Well that’s it for today! I actually really enjoyed writing this first blog post!! It may actually be more fun, if not at least AS fun as writing yelp reviews.
Thanks for reading guys! Hope you enjoyed my first post! Good night 🙂
