Homemade poke can’t get better than this! There’s so many poke places that have been opening up in the 626 area and it seems like it’s a popular thing to eat lately..especially in the summer! How can you go wrong? Eat fresh, raw fishes with rice or salad to your heart’s content!!! And it’s not even that much of cooking that’s required.. It’s more like prepping and putting things together!!
When my cousin, Anh Dat, came to visit a few weeks ago with his wife from Texas, they prepared homemade poke for us!! We bought the sashimi pieces from Yama Seafood and various condiments from Mitsuwa Market.. Sliced them up.. Prepare the sauces.. Throw it together prettily in a bowl!!

Fresh octopus, raw tuna, spicy tuna, salmon, seaweed, cucumbers, salmon roe..and various other leaflets..
It looks so pretty! And tastes as good as it looks!!! Rice made with rice vinegar.. Don’t forget! The short-grain rice is best and what’s what Japanese people use! 😉
Thank you cousin for cooking for us! <3
