Our last day in Tulum was so outdoorsy and adventurous; I loved it! Anytime I travel, if I could spend at least one day in nature, I’m more than happy!
We booked a private tour to do 9 zip lines, a few fun bridges, did a beginner rock climbing and rappelling off of an old thin, swam in and through two cenotes, swam with the sea turtles and even saw the sea turtles and sting rays!!!!
These pictures are probably out of order from when I’ve done them, but who cares!
This is me ready to begin! Yay!
The quality of the pictures aren’t all that great from the workers who took the pics but oh well. The zip lining was fun but was very low to the ground. I don’t think we were anymore than 15-30 feet off the ground. It was like we were just zip lining through the jungle. There wasn’t much of a view.
The tour guide gave us Mexican branded chips. I had to try. It taste no different.
Wait, I forgot the tour included an atv ride to our destination. Our driver was Italian and very fun! We didn’t all get to drive the ATVs, but I was sitting in one of the big ATVs and had a blast because our driver drove fast!!!
This is the entry to the first cenote. My first time! Yikes! I’m excited.
Down the rabbit hole to the second cenote. We walked down the stairs right into a platform so there was a place to put down our things and walk around before we went into the waters to snorkel.
There are bats in here!!! So at first I had trouble forcing myself to only mouth breathe. I’m so used to breathing in with my nose, breathe out with my mouth. Oh, this is for snorkeling BTW.
But the views were breathtaking in a mysterious and untouched kind of way.
It amazed me at how different above water looked from below water. It was like looking through two completely different worlds even though they are directly connected. It was really beautiful in a mysterious and unknown way.
After snorkeling in the cenotes, we went to the beach to snorkel in the ocean waters to look for sea turtles. I even got to swim through two schools of fish and see a stingray.
But seeing sea turtles up close and in real life was my absolute favorite part. I loveeee turtles!
After all that swimming, my appetite is worked up!
We had an authentic Mayan lunch. The locals made tortilla from scratch, pork and chicken.
THE MEAT WAS SO GOOD. The sauce looks watery but it was actually full of a lot of flavor!!!!!! I enjoyed seeping the tortilla into the sauce. I enjoyed the sauce so much that I even slurped the leftover sauce from my plate. No shame.
Homemade salsas. The one closest to me was very, very, very spicy.
Pork on the left and chicken on the right. I liked the chicken more; it was more tender and moist.
My third taco was another chicken.
By the time we came home from our excursion, it was too late to make it to our fancy dinner reservation. We cancelled it. The girls voted to stay in and order delivery instead!!!! YAY!!!! Time to relax and chill by the pool. We were too tired to dress up and go out again.
We ordered food from Encanto Cantina. Honestly though, the food wasn’t as good as our first delivery from the first day. I was pretty disappointed. Everything was kind of dry and over cooked.
