On our way back, I took my mom and father-in-law to a lounge called Salon Premier Aeromexico. It was a mediocre basic lounge with some good food and drinks: Definitely not the worst nor best. I think Vince would have enjoyed it more than me.

◦ There are two small round open bars. You can order fresh coffees from here too actually. I discovered on the way out. There were unground coffee beans and they grind to order. Darn it!
◦ Multiple fridges of bottled beers, waters, pedialyte, juices, etc. The pedialyte was an interesting option.
◦ Very small self-fill black coffee station and milk. This was what I saw first and thought this is the only coffee they have?
◦ Small self serve station of breads and fruits and croissants.
◦ Hot station included hot cakes, quiche, bacon and chilaquiles. There’s a server there and you tell them what you want. Then they’ll serve you. So the chilaquiles was fresh “made to order” so the tortilla chips aren’t just marinating in green sauce.

Standout was the ham and cheese quiche! It was actually quite tasty and satisfying. Soft and mildly cheesy. I had two pieces of this with some bacon.

◦ WiFi was fast 🙂

After finding out that our flight got delayed, we walked around and window shopped. I got myself a Mexican VANUATO KAKAW dark chocolate bar with cocoa nibs.

Then Vince’s mom treated everyone to drinks and cookies at a French cafe called Maison Kayser. We know and love this place! I got myself an iced matcha latte, which was very milky, but light on the matcha. It wasn’t sweet at all so I added two packs of brown sugar. That made it perfect! I loved that they also granted me the less ice request and it was shaken to be ice cold!

For the cookie, I got what looked like a chocolate chip and nut cookie. Also gave me peanut butter vibes; that’s why I got it. It was actually very good! Crunchy and crispy and kind of chewy at the same time.

They came in three flavors: coffee, regular and chocolate. As soon as you open the package, you’re greeted with such an overwhelmingly sweet and bakery aroma. It smelled so good. It tasted so good. Like mini madeleines but with more proportion of tiny, crispy edges.

For airplane lunch, we got baguettes from PIZZA BAR. I got the baguette de jamon. Vince got some weird crispy wrap. It looked appetizing at the time but after being toasted and like 6hr later, the sandwich was all smushed and soggy. I barely ate some of the jamon and cheese and threw away most of it.
And.. that concludes our trip!
